Adam Armstrong’s first half finish was the difference at Molineux, in a game Wolves controlled and should have been out of sight.
Peixoto’s decision to take Jordan James off in the 78th minute was met by some boos and a chant of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’, before Wolves sealed the three points.
However, Peixoto has full belief that the fans will be happier with his team this season.
Peixoto said: “I want to work hard to do better and make our supporters happy with us. We work and play to make the supporters happy.
“I think it is important to talk about the game, the effort of the players. They way we create chances and play in the first half very well.
“The way we stay in fourth place and the effort of the goalscorer Adam.
“I understand the supporters. We are going to work hard to make them happy with our play, with our result. It is our task in the club.
“I want to get the supporters behind us again. It is important for us.
“We can play better it is true. For now, for sure, the team is going to improve in the next weeks.”
When asked about the boos and chants, he added: “For me it is normal. They have the freedom to like or not like things.
“I thought Jordan did a great game and Marshall also. Marshall is important for us in the last minutes, at set pieces he is more strong in that situation.
“Jordan has also not played a lot of 90 minutes with us, so he was a bit tired.
“But the supporters have freedom to do what they have to do.
“I am going to do my job, which is to manage the team and try to win all the time, do what I think is best for the team. I think I do well.”
He added: “If in the first half we scored two or three goals, everything is different.
“If we continue to win, continue to score, things are going to change for sure. I understand people have freedom to do what they think they have to do.
“I am going to work with the team. We can do better. I understand that.
“But if we scored in the first half those chances we had, we are talking about a different environment in the stadium for sure.”
With some teams dropping points around them, Wolves now sit fourth after 12 games, just two points off automatic promotion and four points off league leaders Middlesbrough.
But the head coach admits Wolves still need to improve and he has ‘no doubts’ that they will.
Peixoto said: “I understand everything. It is normal. But it is like I said on Friday, we have played against most of the teams at the top of the table and we are in fourth place, four points off the top.
“I think it is good. Can we do better? Yes. Can we score more goals? Yes. Can we play better sometimes? Yes.
“But we keep pushing, we keep working hard and try and get the team to play well, like the supporters want.
“Everything is normal. This kind of pressure for me is normal. I played a lot of games for lots of teams.
“I understand we can do better. In the beginning of the season when we had more time (between matches) we played well and scored a lot of goals.
“We are going to play well again and score a lot of goals again, I don’t have doubts about that.”

Meanwhile, Peixoto also offered a brief injury update.
Fer Lopez was an unused substitute due to a calf issue, while Nasser Djiga was not involved due to a groin problem, but neither issue is serious.
Ghislain Konan, meanwhile, has suffered a knee injury in training that appears to be more serious and Wolves are now working to ascertain how long he will be out for.
Peixoto said: “Fer was on the bench and if we needed him would have played. We did not take a risk.
“Nasser is nothing too bad, though I am not a doctor.
“Konan I think is a little worse. I have to talk with the doctor. They were doing the exam today and I do not have the result.”

Are we going to spend the whole season on this tightrope of no one likes the manager but we keep on winning… he’s certainly struggling to win everyone over but a good result today.
Really sad but just feel CP has made a rod for his own back…. Starting Raul at Everton, his digging out James, odd decisions in defence (Krejci Toti tinkering) and lack of clear decision making on captaincy (Trippier was obvious decision, then Toti, Raul or Andre if Tripps out)….. this for me is on the club, wolves needed a manager that is not learning on the job this season… CP won’t be cheap as from Mendes stable… we may get away with it, West Ham or Boro may implode with injuries, but it’s wolves players who seem to be having load related injuries so far, relationship can be turned around but CP has to not call out fans, never going to be as good a relationship as some past managers had.
