Cesar Peixoto has praised Wolves’ clinical finishing and believes his team can take confidence from the win against Cardiff.
Goals from Fer Lopez and Adam Armstrong put Wolves firmly in control inside 15 minutes, before a well-timed Ladislav Krejci header sealed the three points.
After failing to convert chances in the win over Watford last week, Peixoto was pleased to see some improvement from his side in front of goal.
When asked about his side’s clinical edge, Peixoto said: “It’s important for us. I talked with the players about it before the game.
“In the last game, we created a lot of chances in the first half, we didn’t score.
“We have to be more clinical inside the box. We work during the week, and today we were like that. We scored two goals, and in the first half we stayed very, very well.
“In the second half, in the first five minutes, the game was more balanced. After that we go again, we changed a little thing in the high pressure.
“We scored the third goal, and after that we tried to manage the game and manage the minutes of the play because we have a game again in the middle of the week. It was a very important win for us, three goals, clean sheet again. It’s important for the players to take confidence.
“It’s important for us, and for the fans to stay happy with the game. The environment was amazing today. That’s what we want from our games, to make our fans happy.
“We work for them, and today is a good result. It’s only three points, we have to stay humble, because after three games we have a game again. It’s very good to finish these three games in a row at home with a big victory.
“I’m happy with that, and I’m happy because the players did an amazing job.”
Cardiff started the second half on the front foot, but Krejci’s finish just before the hour mark killed the game off.
Peixoto revealed he urged his players to find a third goal and shore up the result.
“We knew Cardiff would try to risk a little more in the first minutes in the second half,” he said.
“I said to the players we have to try to go for the third goal to kill the game. We scored the third goal, that’s what we want.
“We worked during the week on the set-piece, it’s important for us because we work a lot at this kind of moment.
“Today we scored, and I think we managed the game well. I think it was a good game for us. Cardiff is a good team, but we deserve to win.”
Meanwhile, Wolves are waiting to see the extent of Jordan James’ injury after he was forced off in the first half with a knock.
Peixoto said: “Jordan James felt something during the week, but we did the exam, and he had nothing, and he felt good.
“We talked with him, he went to the game. He felt something, if he didn’t feel something, he wouldn’t go out of the game, as he was doing well.
“I don’t know if it’s bad or not, I haven’t talked to the doctor.”

Much better today, i actually think it was good that the fans werent happy with the watford game and let the team know. They kept going today looking for the extra goals we should have got last week, to wrap up the game. I thought Rodrigo looked great when he came on just the energy that we need going forward. Credit where its due far better than last week.
