The defender was expected to depart this summer and was left out of the team while his representatives worked to seal a deal, but when a move failed to materialise he was brought back into the starting XI to face Birmingham on Sunday.
Krejci scored on his return to the team and while he was pleased to find the back of the net, he is now also keen to put the summer behind him and perform in a Wolves shirt.
He said: “It was very nice. It’s something that I’m trying to do all the time and why I love football, so I’m happy for this moment.
“It’s very important for me because a lot of people said a lot of things. Not everything was good, but there was also something. As a player, as a professional, you have to take it somehow and work, even if it’s not true.
“But we are footballers, we need to solve it. The only thing I want to say to the fans is thanks for the support from all of us. I will show them on the pitch that it meant a lot for me to reach our dreams, and I will be first in the line to help out.”
Wolves took the lead twice at St. Andrews but were pegged back on both occasions as they settled for a point.
They also had to hold firm as Blues dominated the second half and came close to finding a winner.
Krejci added: “On the one side, I’m happy that I finally got to play and play a full 90 minutes, so I’m happy for this, but I’m not happy with the result.
“We struggled a bit in the second half, but we need to take the good things from it and use them in the other games. We know how this season is long, so we’ve got to keep going.
“I think the guys who have already played in this league will tell you more about it, but I’ve just always heard and also seen that the results are like this – it’s up and down.
“I don’t have too much experience with it, but you can see that from the beginning of the game we kept the ball quite well and had some domination, but in the second half it was only long balls.
“We tried to win the first contact and the second duels, but it wasn’t on our side. It was more on them, and they took the game. From the counters, we don’t have a lot of success, so this is how it goes, up and down.”
He will be a key player for us this season. Not only is he very good, he is a leader which we lack.
Watching Kreji on the ball yesterday at times driving forward with the ball. I know if it was Tori he’d just pass it back to Sa. Massive difference in play. Djiga and Kreji will probably be our best CB partnership.
