Police have arrested a man after a mural outside Molineux was vandalised the night before Wolves’ Black Country derby clash with West Brom.
The club unveiled the artwork on Saturday, featuring faces of Wolves legends, including current player Raul Jimenez, but by Saturday evening it had been vandalised with blue paint splashed across it.
Police have since detained an 18-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage and he remains in custody for questioning.
By Sunday morning the blue paint had been scraped off the wall, but that inevitably damaged the mural underneath, to the frustration of Wolves fans and the club ahead of the huge derby clash.
A Wolves spokesperson said: “We will restore the mural as soon as possible and are grateful to West Midlands Police for their swift response. We will continue to assist with their enquiries.”

Disgusting.
Sad state of affairs…….
