The star striker was welcomed back as a free agent in the summer and after netting two penalties, his first goal from open play this season came in the form of a 90th minute finish at Bramall Lane that broke the deadlock and earned Wolves all three points on Sunday.
The Mexican attacker was delighted to have earned his side all three points in a tough game.
“It’s always special scoring goals in this shirt,” Jimenez said.
“It always feels like home even when we’re away, with the fans supporting us every minute from the start of the match, so giving it back with three points is really special for us.
“It was part of my reason for coming back. It’s what I want to do more often.
“We want to keep working hard and keep pushing to go into games with this feeling that we can win all of the games, and we are going to fight until the end to get the three points.”
He added: “It was an amazing feeling, feeling myself so lonely in that moment with no defenders – they’d been grabbing me all the time, but in that moment I was by myself and I just needed to put it in the net.
“I’m really happy to give back to the fans what they are expecting from me.”
After losing to West Ham and drawing with Birmingham, it was crucial Wolves got back to winning ways.
They now face Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before a huge Black Country derby against West Brom at Molineux on Sunday.
Jimenez is determined to take some momentum into that monumental clash.
He said: “It’s really special. It’s really important to keep winning games after one defeat and one draw.
“It was important the gap didn’t get bigger in the table, although we know we’ve played one less game than most of the teams.
“We need to keep working hard. We did what we needed to do in this kind of game – fighting for every ball, and we have our three points, so it’s special.”
