Mane is also becoming very frustrating - too selfish, not picking the pass or the cross. Jimenez went crazy with him when he just needed a ball in his path to score.
Tough game which we struggled to take control over. This is the squad we have and this is the type of game we can expect week in week out in this league. Definitely more work to do but three points is all you need at the end of every game to be successful. Next....
It was a scrappy game. I don't think the current starting midfield three can be trusted to dominate possession. Munetsi has goals in him and is a huge plus from set-pieces but doesn't help the flow of the game. I'd like to see Doyle replace him and sit in next to Andre. Trippier coming back should be a big help too.
Glad there is no glossing over this performance. Great to get a clean sheet but this was a very poor performance against a team who are struggling to sign players. I will be interested to hear the player ratings because i am struggling to name a good performance? Mane and Armstrong to name but 2 were awful, and Toti off the bench was an accident waiting to happen we have to be better than this west ham showed the way on Friday and we are miles off that
I don’t think pathetic is an accurate assessment, we let them gain a foothold in the 2nd half which is correct, but pathetic, really!🤔 It wasn’t a vintage performance at times, but the stats need looking at.
Sound like there’s still room for improvement….if we can keep picking up points without being very good, that’s got to be a good thing right?
