Wolves were 2-1 up late in the first half when the right-back watched his dreadful back pass fly past Jose Sa and into the back of the net.
Adam Armstrong also missed a huge chance in the 87th minute to win it for Wolves and Peixoto is eager to deflect blame from both players and urges the team to stick together.
“I don’t want this kind of mistake, but Jackson didn’t do it on purpose,” Peixoto said.
“We have to stay together, I help him to improve, to stay confident, because Jackson in the last games did a great job.
“Today he made a mistake, but the team-mates helped him, fight for him, in the dressing room they stayed with him, and we have to stay together all the time.
“I’m never going to put the blame on a player. I don’t want to do this mistake, it can happen, unfortunately for us, they score, but we keep improving the team, we keep fighting until the end together.
“We got a point, it’s important, and we didn’t concede two losses in a row, it’s important for us also.”
When asked about Armstrong’s missed chance, he added: “He tried to score, but it happens. The way Jackson committed this mistake, Adam committed the mistake on the opposite side to score the third goal.
“It’s football, we have to push him, take confidence to them and keep fighting and work hard to the next game.”
Meanwhile, Wolves are due to sign free agent Bertrand Traore, with an announcement due imminently.
It does mean, however, that a senior player is likely to leave for a league that still has an open transfer window - or risk not playing until January. As it stands, Santi Bueno is the most likely to leave.
“Bertrand will come to our team, we need a winger with a left foot,” Peixoto said.
“He’s a good player, strong one against one, with a left foot.
“He’s an experienced guy, also knows well English football.
“He’s a player who needs time to get fit, because he’s been training alone. He has to understand how we deal with the game, and stay fit, because it takes more weeks to stay ready to play.”
On the possibility of S.Bueno leaving, Peixoto said: “We have to manage the situation in the best way, talk with the board to see what’s going to happen with Santi or other players.”
