Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto spoke glowingly of new recruit Sean Neave following his surprise Deadline Day loan move from Newcastle.
The 19-year-old wasted no time in his new surroundings, making his debut as a late substitute, replacing Adam Armstrong during Wolves’ 2-2 draw with Birmingham City.
“He has quality and a lot of hunger, he is very very important for us,” said Peixoto.
“To be the third striker behind Raul and Adam Armstrong, you have to have a lot of patience.
“He has to take the minutes given to him with the right hunger.
“He has quality and the character I want to have in the team.”
The England youth international was expected to sign with a League One club, but Wolves swooped to bring the forward to Molineux.
“In his position with the two guys (Jimenez & Armstrong) in front of him, it is important to work hard during the week and during the season to wait for the right moment to play.
“Mateus Mane is 18 and plays in the starting 11 all the time, the same goes for Fer Lopez and Jordan James who are 22.
“If I see in the training session, he deserves the opportunity, I’m going to put him on the pitch for sure, I don’t have any doubts about that.”
Neave will likely be on the bench again as Wolves travel to Sheffield United this weekend, but could be in line for his first start at Everton next Wednesday in the Carabao Cup third round.
