Adam Armstrong will miss Wolves’ trip to face Burnley as the club faces another injury setback.
Less than 24 hours after it was announced that Raul Jimenez is having surgery on his knee problem, Armstrong has now been ruled out of the clash at Turf Moor with a back issue.
It adds more injury worries for Cesar Peixoto, as Wolves aim to get back on track following consecutive Championship defeats, and the head coach has said he will be forced into more changes due to the busy fixture list.
“He has a problem in his back,” Peixoto said of Armstrong.
“He made a lot of effort to help the team. He's an important player for us.
“We rotated the first game to the second four or five players, we're going to do it again.
“Adam has a problem in the back, he's not going to play, but in the next game we think he's ready to play.
“The Championship is like that. We have to manage the minutes and because of that I wanted two players per position during these moments of the season to rotate the team.
“We have confidence in all the players. All the players in three games are going to play, almost all of them, and we have three more games next week.
“We have to manage the minutes to not have injury problems and Adam is one of the players that will play more minutes. We have to manage him also.”
Rodrigo Gomes, Bertrand Traore and Boubacar Traore are also sidelined for tomorrow’s game, while Yerson Mosquera is back in training but not yet ready to play.
“He’s training with us but not 100 per cent,” Peixoto said of Mosquera.
“It’s the kind of injury you have to take time in training. Sometimes when he kicks the ball, he feels a little pain.
“But he’s training with us and at some moment the pain will go and he’ll start to play.
“We have a lot of players out, but we have to manage things to name a strong team and try for three points.”
Jimenez’s injury and scheduled surgery on Friday will keep him out until January, with an MCL knee issue.
Peixoto admits the injury is a ‘punch’ for Wolves, but says the player has responded positively to the setback.

“It’s the kind of thing we don’t want to happen,” Peixoto said.
“We are frustrated, Raul is an important player for us.
“In the beginning, the doctor thought it wasn’t too bad, and after one month, it’s frustrating for us.
“Now we have to help Raul recover as soon as possible.
“It’s a big punch to us, but football is like that. The worst thing in football is the injuries.”
When asked how Jimenez is feeling, Peixoto added: “Very positive, I'm surprised about that.
“I look at him smiling with a good vibe, in a very, very positive way. I'm happy with that.
“I thought because of his age he'd stay (upset), but no, he's the first one to smile every day, to stay positive, to try to recover as soon as possible.
“It surprised me in a positive way.”

Can’t quite believe I’m saying this but Marshall Munetsi could the answer here. Offers more than Armstrong physically, runs his backside off and usually finds himself in goal scoring positions.
I know there’s a lot left to the season, but recent form and mounting injuries makes me start thinking about the impact (financially) of not bouncing straight back to the PL… Fosun won’t meaningfully invest and without parachute payments plus revenues declining, could we be at the beginning of a free fall? Or am I just overreacting to a terrible week on and off the pitch?!
