Wolves have won three of their opening four matches - two of which came in the Carabao Cup - in a solid start to a campaign they hope will end in promotion back to the Premier League.
The head coach is happy with the start his side has made and believes they can take confidence from it after a dreadful 2025/26 campaign, but he insists there is plenty of room for improvement.
“It can be better if you win all four, but I think it’s good for us to take confidence,” Peixoto said.
“We know it’s important to start the season in the right way, but there’s a lot to work on.
“We have to improve a lot. We have to stay humble and work hard like we work in the pre-season to be strong in the games, to try to fight for the three points all the time.
“It was very important to start in this way because of what’s happened in the past.
“We know that, we work well, we work hard in the pre-season to start well and we have a clear idea what we want for the team in terms of inside of the pitch, outside of the pitch.
“I try to work with all the staff, with all the players in the same way to not have only the starting XI, but one team fight for the same purpose.
“I think it’s the key to start well and you have to maintain this kind of feeling inside of the club, inside of the team and continue to work hard to continue this kind of feeling.
“We know we’re not going to win all the games but I think if you are together, if you know well what you want for the team, for the future, for the club, it’s easier to pass the negatives when the things are not in the right way. We are strong and fight to put again the things in the positive way.”
Saturday’s opponents Stoke have lost both of their opening Championship games, first beaten 2-1 at home to Swansea and then losing 3-1 at Southampton.
But Peixoto is not taking them lightly as they come to Molineux.
“A good team and I think it’s a game tough for us,” he added.
“They haven’t started well, but I think it’s a good team with good players. It’s going to be a tough game for us but in our home you have to look for the three points all the time.
“We prepared for Stoke like we prepared the last game to try to manipulate the spaces to play. Try to see their weakness also to score and try to close the biggest things they have.
“It’s a strong team, not in a good moment but I think it’s a very, very difficult team.
“Let’s make Molineux our fortress. It’s very, very important to have a great Championship and tomorrow is important they support us during 90 minutes.”
Wolves are still without the injured Kieran Trippier, Yerson Mosquera, Rafiki Said and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, but Santi Bueno is available.
On S.Bueno, he said: “In the last week he felt something, a little thing and didn’t go to the game, but he will go to this game.”
When asked if Bellegarde was nearing a return, he added: “Closer but it’ll take a few weeks.”
Any news on Krejci?
Am still dubious about the injuries that S.Bueno and Krejci seem to have. What do we think are the chances of them leaving because those two are by far our strongest CB pairing.
And yet the club have no plans to bring in another CB - even if one/ both of them leave?
