The Molineux men found themselves losing the game after 80 seconds due to a Sam Gallagher screamer, but they recovered impressively through a Rodrigo Gomes brace.
Raul Jimenez and Jordan James then added some shine to the win and Peixoto was pleased with his side’s resilience.
“It’s very, very important,” Peixoto said.
“We concede a goal and the reaction the team has is very important for us. It shows personality, character to fight for the three points.
“After that, we score four goals, we can score more. We play well, we’re organised.
“We can score more and I think the boys did a great, great job today.
“I talked with the players before the game, the importance of this victory, the importance to try to do the right body shape, the right body language, to bring our supporters to support us when things are not in the right way, like we did today.
“I think the players show character, personality and quality when we have the ball. We find the right space, we defend well, not concede a lot of chances to the opponent. I think today we did a great game during 90 minutes, not only 45 minutes.
“It’s important, but only three points. We have to stay humble and work hard like we’ve worked since I arrived at the club.”
R.Gomes had struggled for impact in earlier games this season and many (including Inside Wolves!) were calling for him to be replaced in the starting XI by Adam Armstrong.
But the winger proved us all wrong with two instinctive first half finishes to turn the game around.
“I put a lot of trust in all the players,” Peixoto added.
“For me the players are the same. I think it’s important Rodrigo has confidence to play.
“He played all the games in pre-season, but we can play Adam also, but Raul is not 100 per cent fit.
“I need Adam during the game, not in the starting XI because of that, to manage the situation.
“Rodrigo is an important player like the others because he works hard for the team, not only in terms of the offensive game, but in the offensive organisation he also works hard to help the right full-back a lot to defend. He scored two goals, but for me it’s about the team and not individuals - all the players are important.
“The Championship is very tough and we’re going to need all the players at a good level to stay competitive in all the games.”
Meanwhile, Peixoto has insisted the Boubacar Traore will stay with the club amid interest from Anderlecht.
The head coach brought the midfielder on in the second half against Stoke and says Wolves have no plans to sell.
He said: “He won’t go, he stays with us.”
When asked if the player is happy, Peixoto added: “Yeah, I think so. I think the players are happy.
“When the things are in the right way, when we win, it’s more easy to work and the players are more happy.
“Bouba stays with us because he’s an important player to support Andre and fight with each other to stay more competitive in the team.”
