The head coach believes Jay Stansfield handled the ball for his equaliser, while he was also critical at the lack of free-kicks for blocks on set pieces - something his goalkeeper Jose Sa also agreed with.
As a result, Peixoto cannot understand why VAR is not used in the second tier.
“I think it’s very important,” he said when asked about the technology.
“I don’t (blame) the referees, because sometimes I think they don’t see, but VAR is very important to be more fair in the game.
“I think it’s important and I don’t know why we don’t have VAR in the Championship.
“I think it’s very, very important to help the referees to take the best decision in the game.
“I saw a handball (for the first Blues goal), and in the screen we saw a handball, but the referee didn’t whistle.”
He added: “Blocks on the goalkeeper all the time, I think it’s important in this kind of moment to help the referees.
“I think it’s an important thing to improve the Championship also.
“Sometimes it’s unfair, these blocks, from my players or other players, for me it’s the same.
“I think it puts more clarity in the game, in some decisions for the referees.
“We had a meeting in London at the beginning of the year, with the referees, with all the coaches, and they said when there are blocks or this kind of push, they’re normally going to whistle, but it’s not happening.
“This kind of things happen all the time, but they don’t whistle. I think it’s difficult sometimes for the referees to see what’s happening with the blocks. Many players try to move, many players to manage, but I think because of that VAR is very important for the Championship.”
Wolves took the lead twice in the first half through Fer Lopez and Ladislav Krejci, but were pegged back both times before the break.
Birmingham dominated the second half and should have found a winner - while Adam Armstrong missed a huge chance for Wolves to snatch all three points late on.
Peixoto admitted his side were not able to implement their normal game plan at St. Andrews.
“I think it’s a difficult game for us,” Peixoto said.
“We know the way Birmingham play, typical team, direct, first ball, second ball, set-pieces are very dangerous, we know it’s a difficult game for us.
“We start well, we score, and after we concede a goal, I think it’s handball when they receive the ball.
“We score the second goal and we concede with an individual mistake, it can happen.
“It’s not because of that we draw the game, we have to be more ready to play in our way.
“I think in the second half it’s more difficult for us, we are not capable to put the game like we want to play, in our way. It’s not negotiable to try to play back and find the space, to track and find the space, today it was very difficult in some moments, and we suffer together.
“Birmingham were very dangerous from set-pieces and all the time they blocked Sa but it was never a foul.
“In the last five minutes we have a clear chance to score the third goal, we don’t score and we leave with one point. We want three points, but it’s one point away, important for us, and it’s also important for us not to lose two games in a row.

Also maybe he should teach his keeper to be stronger and actually command his box rather than dropping to the floor like a toddler having a tantrum every time someone comes within 5 yards of him
